Itinerary

You've heard it before: we only do Scotland because it takes a long time to establish the kind of familiarity that makes you feel at home when you travel with us. This time, we are venturing out because our beloved driver, Glenn, knows other parts.

Glasgow, Scotland — 2 nights

Your journey begins in Glasgow, Scotland's magnificent, often misunderstood city — a place that rewards the curious. Strung along the banks of the River Clyde, Glasgow dazzles with layer upon layer of Victorian grandeur and sinuous Art Nouveau flourishes, its architecture a testament to the ambition of a city that once built ships for the world. We settle in together over a private welcome dinner and an intimate concert — your first taste of the warmth and culture that define this remarkable city. The days are yours to wander: lose yourself in world-class museums and galleries, stand quietly in the soaring nave of Glasgow Cathedral, or simply drift through one of ninety parks and gardens. (Yes, ninety. We'll point you in the right direction.)

The Isle of Man — 4 nights

Few places feel quite as undiscovered as the Isle of Man — and we'd like to keep it that way. Resting at the very heart of the Irish Sea, halfway between worlds, this small island holds an astonishing amount of beauty. Rugged sea cliffs give way to rolling green countryside; ancient Celtic crosses stand in village churchyards; castles and ruins speak of Norse kings and medieval lords. In Douglas, the handsome Victorian seafront promenade tells another story entirely — one of prosperity, elegance, and a quietly distinctive island life. We'll seek out fresh seafood, wander botanical gardens, and follow coastal paths at whatever pace suits us. The Isle of Man asks nothing of you except that you slow down.

York, England — 2 nights

From the Irish Sea to the ancient north of England — York is one of those cities that makes you feel the weight of time in the best possible way. Founded by the Romans nearly two thousand years ago, its medieval walls still encircle the city centre, and within them, almost every era of English history has left its mark. We join a local guide to explore York Minster, one of the greatest Gothic cathedrals in the world, before ducking into the Shambles — a medieval street so perfectly preserved it looks conjured from another century, its timber-framed buildings leaning toward each other conspiratorially overhead. We'll venture out to the Lake District as well, that most celebrated corner of the English countryside, all still lakes and dramatic fells and Romantic-era ghosts.

Glasgow — 1 final night

We return to Glasgow as old friends — to the city where the adventure began, for one last dinner. There will be stories, no doubt, and laughter, and the particular, bittersweet pleasure of raising a glass to people you hadn't yet met a little over a week ago.
