Itinerary
Oct 20-30, 2027
Join the fabulous Tim Edey for an unforgettable journey through his favourite haunts in Scotland!
Day 1: Arrive in the enchanting city of Edinburgh, where you can unwind for a bit or wander along the historic Royal Mile. As the day winds down, we’ll gather at our hotel for a casual meet-and-greet. This first evening offers a chance to ease into the time change and atmosphere of Edinburgh before our adventure kicks off with a coach departure the following morning.
Day 2-4: Our coach picks us up to journey toward Perth, the heart of Scotland. We'll stay close to the City Centre where you can visit the award winning museum, quaint shops and cafes. The Black Watch Castle & Museum (Balhousie Castle) is nearby and you may want to explore Kinnoull Hill for great views, walk along the River Tay, or visit historical sites like Huntingtower Castle. A day trip to Dunkeld and Birnam is a must and you'll have free time to visit Dunkeld Cathedral or the Beatrix Potter Museum as well as take a historical walk with local friends. Of course, private concerts will be a part of our evenings.
Day 5-6: The next two nights will be spent in Montrose on the east coast. In autumn, the Montrose Basin is home to over 100,000 migratory birds including pink-footed geese, wigeon and a variety of other waterfowl and waders. You'll have some time to meander the village and have a wine and cheese reception at Raven and Steve's Scotland home. We will also journey to one of Tim's favorite beaches, closeby, and enjoy a private concert as well.
Day 7-9: Next, we'll head into the highlands and the wee village of Nairn, with sandy beaches just steps from the hotel. We will spend a day in Inverness with a cultural immersion into the history of Tartan with our friends at Rebel Row and a special Highland experience at MacGregor's, frequent winner of the best bar in Scotland. During our time here, we'll also visit a nearby castle and stunning waterfall walk while enjoying great music at night.
Day 10: We journey back to Edinburgh with a lunch stop along the way before meeting for our farewell group dinner and overnight.
Day 11 Leave for the airport for those returning home.
Did you know?
Our tours are different than most. We follow a model of Regenerative Tourism, meaning we strive to leave a place better than we found it. Tours are carefully curated to support Scottish communities and be mindful of areas that are overtouristed. You will be seeing Scotland with local guides and friends who show up to share music and stories. You will not be seeing this enchanting land through a coach window with quick stops. We take our time and a portion of every tour goes back to conservation efforts in the areas we visit. Thanks for supporting small businesses and community efforts around Scotland!
