Itinerary

Lookin' for a true Highland Adventure with picturesque beaches, quaint villages, stunning gardens, long walks down old drover's roads, and music to stir your soul, all while traveling with a Scottish icon?

Anna Massie, musician extraordinaire and tour favorite will join Raven for this epic adventure. Here's the planned route:

Pick up in Edinburgh the morning of the 3rd (the night before is on your own but we can help with reservations).

Our Coach takes us to the village of Cromarty on the Black Isle, regarded as the best preserved example of an 18th century town in Scotland. It's beautiful, yes, but also off the main tourist track and considered a part of 'secret' Scotland. It was also home to Hugh Miller, one of the founding fathers of modern Geology and is now a creative artist town. Bonus! There's a dolphin and seal tour out into the firth. This will be our home for two nights.

Next, we head to Ullapool for three nights. It's beautiful, rugged and remote and sits on the shores of Loch Broom. Ullapool also features on the Hebridean “Whale Trail”, and is one of the UK’s notable hotspots for spotting whales and other cetaceans, such as Porpoises, Dolphins, Basking Sharks and even Orca. We'll also find some geological wonders and Inverewe Gardens as well as local artisans.

Then we'll journey to Durness for three nights for stunning scenery, Smoo Cave and Balnakeil Beach. We'll also embark on a 4-mile hike to a beautiful beach, only accessible by an old drover's path.

It's back to the city next, where we'll spend one night in Inverness for great food and music. Then we'll journey down to Edinburgh for our final night and group dinner, where we'll share our favorite memories and say goodbye until next time.

Did you know?

Our tours are different than most. We follow a model of Regenerative Tourism, meaning we strive to leave a place better than we found it. Tours are carefully curated to support Scottish communities and be mindful of areas that are overtouristed. You will be seeing Scotland with local guides and friends who show up to share music and stories. You will not be seeing this enchanting land through a coach window with quick stops. We take our time and a portion of every tour goes back to conservation efforts in the areas we visit. Thanks for supporting small businesses and community efforts around Scotland!
