Scotland: From the Shores of Loch Fyne to the Moray Coast
with David Starr | May 7-17, 2028 | 10 Days

We begin our journey by landing in Edinburgh on May 6th. This night before your tour is on your own but we'll host a meet and greet at the Radisson Blu on the Royal Mile. 

Days 1-3 We head west to Inveraray, a Georgian planned town of black-and-white buildings on the shores of Loch Fyne.  We'll spend three nights in the village, based at the historic George Hotel — open fires, Loch Fyne seafood landed daily, and a whisky bar with over 500 expressions to work through. In between, we'll tour Inveraray Castle, where Downton Abbey was filmed and enjoy its spring gardens, wander the extraordinary open-air museum at Auchindrain, and make our way south to Crarae Garden where, in April and May, the woodland erupts in rhododendron and azaleas and, of course, there will be music at night.

Days 4-6 From Inveraray we travel north to Oban, the seafood capital of the west coast and a working harbour town with a Victorian folly on the hill, and ferries coming and going to the islands. Three nights here means time to breathe: a day out to Kilchurn Castle on the shores of Loch Awe, perhaps a ferry crossing to Mull and the colourful harbour of Tobermory, or simply an afternoon watching the boats come in with something cold from the seafood stall on the pier. We'll experience the magical music sessions of MacGregor's (yes, there's an Oban location!) Whisky Vaults. 

Days 7-9 Then north again, through Glencoe and along the Great Glen, to Nairn to meet old friends and new. We'll spend three nights on the Moray Firth coast, where our hotel's garden gate opens onto the North Sea and the light in the evenings is something you'll want to photograph and never quite capture. From here, we'll follow the Jacobites through history, have an author talk, a meander through the Black Isle with a local among other surprises and, of course, music at night. 

We end where we began with one final night in Edinburgh for a farewell dinner and sharing of memories. We'd love for you to join us.

Day 11 Leave for the airport for those returning home.
