Come walk with me

Hey there and Cheers from beautiful Perthshire!

The last several days, I've been taking a wee sabbatical between tour groups in Dunkeld. I love this village and the way of life here. I've made deep friendships over the years and, each morning, I get up, stop by Aran Bakery (owned by a finalist in the Great British Bake Off :), then with a latte and scone in tow, I walk...and walk some more...often along the river through Macbeth's "Birnam Wood" to say hello to the 500 year old Oak tree and sit in stillness on a sandy beach, or across the bridge to Birnam, or through the woods to Loch of the Lowes, perhaps along the banks of the river Braan where I pause to cuddle giant Douglas firs.

Yesterday I took the Inver path and detoured to Pine Cove Point for breathtaking views across the valley and rocky crags. Averaging 7.5 hilly miles a day last week (one 10 mile day got my avg up!) and it seems like nothing, but bliss. I'm still putting in an 8-10 hour workday, mostly at night and into the wee hours. The sun goes down about 10:30 and is up again about 5.5 hours later so I feel like I have more time for it all!

I love nothing more than sharing Scotland's peace and beauty with others and see them carry a bit of it back with them. On the last tour, which consisted of my neighbors from Marshall, NC, Fiona Ritchie said to them "Oh, you had to come to Scotland to see Raven cause she's never home!"  Sadly, and not so sadly, that's true. The not so sad part is that I'm here for you to visit.

Hope to see you soon, but even if I don't, may you find beauty and adventure in each magnificent day.

xo,

Raven
